A small fishing-and-cruise port half an hour from Olympia, with the long sandy beaches of {{strong:Kourouta and Skafidia}} either side. The soft coastal coda to the inland days.
Katakolo is a small port on the west coast — fishing harbour, cruise stop, and the launching pad for the coast strip that runs north and south.
The town itself is a short pedestrianised waterfront with a few cafés and one good fish taverna. The interesting things are the beaches: Kourouta long-and-sandy to the north, Skafidia softer-and-shorter to the south. The beaches are quiet outside July and August. The Magna Grecia winery is a short drive inland.
The interesting things sit along a single coastal road north-south of the port.
